Eicon Networks Corporation (“Eicon”), a global leader in providing reliable communication products for networked business applications, announced today that it has entered into a License Agreement with F-Secure Corporation, the leading provider in virus protection and intrusion prevention. Through this agreement, Eicon is able to bundle F-Secure’s "Linux Anti-Virus for Server and Gateway" and resell F-Secure’s "Anti-Virus Client Security" to complement the rapidly expanding Shiva VPN Gateway family.

F-Secure’s award-winning antivirus solutions will enable Eicon to ensure maximum protection on its Shiva VPN Gateways, which has recently seen three new additions to the family with the Shiva 500, 1100 and 4102 VPN Gateways.

The Shiva VPN Gateway and F-Secure solutions are renowned for being easy to use, deploy, manage and support whilst affording the highest levels of security and protection - this makes them ideal partners and will give customers better integrated products to protect both central sites and remote users against viruses, worms and hackers.

“We are very pleased to have formed this partnership with F-Secure. By adding industry leading layer 7 software to Eicon’s renowned Shiva range of Gateways we believe it gives our customers the best of both worlds; high quality, secure communications with state of the art virus protection. In particular this will enhance upcoming Shiva VPN Gateway products we plan to release in 2005,” said James Besley, Senior Vice-President – Worldwide Marketing, Sales & Support at Eicon. “With the Policy Manager for centralized management and automatic definition updating, F-Secure is consistently the fastest to provide end users protection against a new virus.”

“The Shiva brand pioneered VPN Gateway technology has long been synonymous with reliability,” stated Travis Witteveen, Vice President Americas, for F-Secure. “Now that the Shiva technology is owned by Eicon and is benefiting from their cutting edge development teams, having our world-leading products combined is a very exciting partnership for F-Secure and its customers.”
